Sunday, June 14th was our first visit to Rube's and my wife and I are so happy that we finally found a place in Frederick County that knows how to properly steam crabs! We moved from Pasadena to Frederick nearly 3 years ago and tried several "Famous" Frederick Crab Houses and have been underwhelmed each time. I've tried them but none has matched the price and quality of the seafood, especially the crabs, that you get from Rube's. It's well worth the trip over the mountain for Rube's "Crabs"! And the customer service and preparation of our order was excellent. The personal touch of layering the crabs in the box rather than just dumping them was outstanding. There were no loose crab legs in the box after all crabs were removed. The crabs were still hot after 4 hours in the cooler when we got home in Virginia. The seasoning was perfect. I would like to say Thank You for the great Crabs and Chicken! The Company Picnic was one of the best! All attending said they loved the "Big Shrimp", the "Crabs" were "Sweet", the kids said plenty of Cheese on the Macaroni, even the square plates were a hit. My wife said the Chicken was the best she ever had. We have used your store for the last couple of years and will again. Crabs? In Thurmont? We thought. Pretty far from the Eastern Shore. But we decided to order a 1/2 bushel of # 2 males. WOW! Best Steamed Crabs ever, and great price too. We live in Monrovia and usually get crabs from Joe's Seafood on Rt. #2 outside of Annapolis. I can honestly say that Rube's rank right up there with the best Eastern Shore Crabs we've ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed the Crabs, and the service too - not too crabby ;-) Kudos and a Big A+ to Rube's. Now Thurmont really has something to talk about! We'll spread the word. I know where we'll be coming for more crabs this summer, and Rube's is a much shorter drive than Annapolis. Again, after 4 hours in the cooler, they were just as hot as if they had just come out of the steamer. The seasoning was perfect and the crabs were excellent. These are the best crabs time after time and the service is just as excellent. When you order a 1/2 bushel, you truly get a 1/2 bushel and more. Can't say enough about the great crabs and great people. We will continue to make the 3 & 1/2 hour drive from Virginia to get these delicious crabs.
